What is the difference between Virtual Servers and Virtual Hosting?
We specialize in Virtual Servers which means that you can have full control of your own domain name web site on our state-of-the-art web servers and establish a presence on the internet.  We will register your own domain name which will become your unique address on the World Wide Web, and give you full access to your server with a dedicated IP address.  Virtual Hosting is done by putting several domains within the same IP address (or within a Virtual Server in other words).  The drawback to this is that "Virtually Hosted" sites cannot be seen by many search engines and some browsers.

A true virtual server gives you much more control for configuring and programming your site, AND, most importantly, ensures your site is available to everyone on the Internet.  And of course, with your own domain name, you will have a unique URL forever.  Also, since email can be sent and received under your domain (e.g. "you@yourname.com") you will not have to announce a new email address if you change internet providers.  Why pay more and get less? Will I be able to access my domain name with or without the WWW??
Yes, you will be able to access the domain name with or without the WWW in front.  For example, you could access the domain name "mydomain.com" by going to "www.mydomain.com" as well as "mydomain.com".  This is another aspect of a true Virtual Server.

Do you offer dial-up internet access?
No, you will need local Internet access in order to maintain your web site and retrieve email addressed to your site.  By focusing only on Web Hosting, we can serve you better because we do not have hundreds of modems to maintain, nor do we waste bandwidth by providing access.  Our professional web servers are connected to the Internet via dual OC12 lines with OC3 and DS3 backups via 3 different backbone providers to ensure a high level of performance.  OC12 lines have a capacity of 620 Mbps which is the equivalent of 400 T-1's.

Do you host adult sites?
No, we don't host any adult-related sites for various legal and technical reasons.

Do you offer web page design services?
Yes, through our "Virtual Design Team" of graphic designers, copywriters, and programmers, we offer web page development, and/or custom scripting services.  If you are interested, reference our Design Page.

How do I upgrade from one web site package to another?
You can upgrade your site by contacting AccesoYA.NET directly.  If you have questions about any packages or options please email sales@accesoya.net or calling us at 888-872-6162 (US) or 506-281-1163 (CR) or by fax at 888-353-8973 (US) or 506-281-0576 (CR).  Any unused fees will be automatically applied to a larger package when you upgrade.

Can I check domain name availability?
Yes, you can check domain name availability, reference Domain Check.

Do you handle domain registration?
Yes, we register names directly on your behalf.  The procedure is automated when you setup your account.  You are always listed as the domain name Owner and Administrative Contact for the account.  We are typically listed as the Technical Contact.  If you are transferring the domain name just check off "Transfer Domain" on our online order form and a modification request will be sent to Network Solutions.

Can I transfer an existing domain name to your servers?
Yes.  When you place your order be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain.  You should keep the service at the present site while waiting for Internic to complete the transfer.  We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you can mirror the site on our server.  All email and web pages will still be accessed from the current site.  When Internic announces the completion of the transfer there is a 72 hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site.  At the end of the 72 hours you should contact the previous host to have them delete the old domain from their records and update their DNS record.  If you use this same provider for your Internet access you will not be able to access your domain site with OnNet (by the domain name) until they update their DNS.

How long does it take before my domain name is active?
Once your domain name has been submitted for Registration, it usually takes about 48 hours before it is active.  All internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations.  This is called propagation.

What is the InterNIC fee for domain registration?
There is NO fee as long as you maintain your hosting account with us.

How do I transfer files to my web site?
You can upload files directly from the File Manager in your Web Control Panel.  Files can also be transferred to the web server via File Transport Protocol (FTP).  If you need FTP software, you can download a program for either the PC or Mac from jumbo.com or shareware.com.  Internet providers such as AOL, Compuserve, and Prodigy may have a built-in FTP interface, as do most web authoring programs.

Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
Sí. You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day.  You can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.  You can also logon via Telnet (SSH) and your Web Based Control Panel to manage and update your site.

Can multiple domains point to the same HTML files?
Sí. Yes, we offer a "Parking" option whereby additional domain names can point to an existing IP address. The charge is $10 for each additional "parked domain." That domain then rides along with your primary domain.

Can I resell space within my own domain account?
Sí. Yes.  You can resell space within your account at no extra cost.  However, you will be responsible for its content.

Do you accept international orders?
Absolutely!  We are pleased to have customers from 94 countries around the world and we're as close as your computer.  If desired, we can host non-US domain name extensions.  We will provide the necessary technical information but you will need to register the name yourself if it is outside of the U.S.  Please let us know in advance if you want to use a non-US domain name.

Do you offer technical support to customers?
Yes.  For priority support send email to support@accesoya.net with questions or concerns about your web site.  You can also call 888-872-6162 (US) or 506-281-1163 (CR) from 09:00 to 19:00 EST for phone support.  Support is a 24-hour pperation managed by Senior Systems Administrators.  The usual turnaround time for questions during normal business hours is less than 2 hours.

How long does it take to set up a new account?
As long as your application is complete, your account will be activated within 4 hours.  Once your account is set up, a "Welcome" letter will be sent to you via email, including an IP address and Instructions for using all the custom features.  You can begin uploading files to your new web site immediately after receiving your IP address (temporary URL).

How do I place an order?
You can place an order for a Web Site Host account directly from our web site 24 hours a day or by calling during normal working hours at 888-872-6162 (US) or 506-281-1163 (CR).  Your order is processed via a secure server to ensure the protection of your information.
